Rider suffers life-threatening injuries in crash

A motorcyclist has been treated for life-threatening injuries in hospital after they were involved in a collision with a car in North Yorkshire.

The incident happened on Low Street in Sherburn-in Elmet, close to its junction with Bramley Park Avenue at 17:45 GMT on Tuesday.

Police said the orange off-road motorcycle, which was travelling from Sherburn to South Milford, was involved in a crash with a black Ford Fiesta, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car, who was uninjured, was interviewed by police and released under investigation.

Police have asked for any witnesses to come forward.
