Man charged after car and bus tyres slashed

A man has been charged with slashing car and bus tyres in Gosport.

Officers were called at about 05:55 GMT on Friday following reports a man was damaging passing cars and buses in Queens Road, Stoke Road and Elmhurst Road.

Charles Williams, 27, of Elmhurst Road, was charged with one count of possessing a knife in a public place, two counts of affray and 12 counts of criminal damage.

He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on 25 February.
