Police appeal after man dies in crash
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a single vehicle crash, which led to rush-hour disruption on a busy road.
Cumbria Police was called to the A595 near to Sellafield, Egremont, just after 05:00 GMT on Thursday.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene and there were no other reported injuries, police said.
The road will remain closed for some time as officers remain on the scene and buses have been diverted from the area.
A spokesperson for the Great North Air Ambulance said it was called to the accident but was stood down en route, as North West Ambulance Service assessed and treated a patient.
The A595 was closed between Blackbeck roundabout to Yottenfews roundabout during rush hour on Thursday morning.
Some bus services were out of service along the road.

Sellafield, the nuclear site nearby, warned their employees there was serious disruption in the area and said Calder Gate, North Gate, and Main Gate would be accessible until the road was reopened.
