Man attacked bystander who filmed fight

A man who joined in on an unprovoked attack that left a victim needing a metal plate fitting into his jaw has been jailed.
Otis Wilson and his friends assaulted the man in Nottingham's Lace Market in the early hours of 22 August 2021.
After a fight broke out between Wilson's group and another group of men, they turned on the victim - a bystander – who was filming the altercation on his mobile phone, Nottinghamshire Police said.
Wilson, of Primrose Close, St Ann's, was jailed for 27 months at Nottingham Crown Court on 25 April.
The 32-year-old and the group were caught on CCTV in the Lace Market launching an assault against him, forcing him to the floor as they kicked and stamped on his head and body.
'Unacceptable' violence
Police said the victim was left with a fractured jaw in two places that required him to undergo surgery where a metal plate was fitted.
Wilson, of Primrose Close, St Ann's, was jailed for 27 months at Nottingham Crown Court on 25 April.
He had pleaded guilty to affray and was found guilty of occasioning grievous bodily harm without intent.
Other suspects involved in the attack previously faced the courts in April 2024 and were sentenced, the force said.
Det Sgt Parminder Ahluwalia, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Otis Wilson and the group launched a vicious and unprovoked attack on a man who was simply enjoying the night with his friends.
"This kind of violence is unacceptable and I hope this sentence sends out a very clear message to others who think they can behave in a similar way that we will do everything to ensure they face the courts."
