Police renew appeal following hit and run death
Google- Carole Hayward, 85, was found in the road near Frimley on 28 June
- Police believe she had been hit by a vehicle that drove away
- She died from her injuries three months later on 26 September
- Officers are trying to trace a dark car
Police are renewing their appeal after an elderly woman died following a hit and run collision near Frimley, Surrey.
Carole Hayward, 85, was found in the road outside Mytchett Community Centre at about 15:50 BST on 28 June.
A dark car was seen leaving the area.
She suffered leg injuries and died in hospital three months later on 26 September.
Det Con Richard Edwards expressed his condolences to Mrs Hayward's family.
"We are doing everything we can to establish the circumstances and to trace the vehicle we believe may have been involved," he said.
Police believe Mrs Hayward was hit by a vehicle and are appealing to anyone living in the Mytchett area who may have CCTV, doorbell footage, or dash camera footage to get in touch.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who was walking around the area and witnessed a dark-coloured car, possibly driving erratically,” Det Con Edwards added.
