Channel Islands lottery launches new game
Tickets for the Channel Islands Christmas lottery games have gone on sale to raise money for local charities.
The Channel Islands lottery said in 2023 it raised £2.5m for good causes.
It said this year would include the annual draw game and a new Christmas Extravaganza game, featuring £500,000 of instant win scratch prizes.
The States of Guernsey said all Guernsey proceeds from the lottery would be distributed to local charities via the Social Investment Fund.
Know your limit
Head of lottery Jon Taylor said it was a fantastic way to support funding essential charities and worthy causes in the islands.
"Our traditional draw-based game remains popular and over recent years the prize fund has been diversified to include far more smaller prizes to provide more chances to win," said Mr Taylor.
"For most people, playing the Christmas lottery games is fun and entertaining, however for a small percentage of people playing can become a problem."
He said playing responsibly was "all about being informed, having fun and knowing your limit" and added there was advice and support with information on the lottery website.
