Attempted murder arrest after attack on woman

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was attacked in Leicester.
A BMW overturned on Aylestone Road, near to the junction with Welford Road, at about 17:30 BST on Tuesday, police said.
The male occupant of the car then ran towards the Leicester Royal Infirmary, where he assaulted a female pedestrian, who suffered life-threatening injuries.
The 23-year-old suspect has also been arrested on suspicion of possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply, assault of an emergency worker, dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drugs and failing to provide a specimen. He remains in police custody.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, remains at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, officers said.
Det Insp Emma Matts said: "This woman was sadly subjected to a serious assault and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
"We have a dedicated team of detectives who are pursuing all lines of inquiry to establish the full circumstances around what happened.
"We have spoken to a number of witnesses, but we know from CCTV that the area was extremely busy with many people passing through the city.
"If you saw anything connected to this incident or filmed any footage - whether that was of the vehicle being driven beforehand through the city centre, the collision itself or the assault – please get in touch with us."
