Low bridge hit yet again by lorry
Motorists were delayed after a lorry collided with a low bridge in Leicestershire.
The A5 Watling Street railway bridge in Hinckley - which was once dubbed the "most bashed" bridge in Britain - was struck by a lorry on Monday afternoon, National Highways said.
Leicestershire Police said the road was closed in both directions between the roundabout at Nutts Lane, and the roundabout at the Coventry Road
The force said it was reopened at about 15:55 GMT.
The bridge was also hit by a lorry last month, and was hit by high vehicles 88 times between 2017 and September 2022.
A study released last year found the numerous incidents around the bridge had cost thousands of pounds to the local economy.
