Fiona Macdonald said she savoured this double nougat at a Glasgow coffee shop after news reports the treat could be under threat due to doubts over nougat production in Scotland. There is a campaign to keep making them.

John McGowan, of Ardullie, said: "The photo was taken around sunrise at a frozen Loch Droma looking towards An Teallach. Had to wade thigh deep through the snow at around -17C to get a load of photos of the red/orange colour over the top of the mountain. Well worth it."

Anna Tully took a picture of a Brocken spectre that formed on the top of East Kip at sunrise. The spooky effect is produced when a person stands above the upper surface of a cloud - on a mountain or high ground - with the sun behind them.

Anthony Jackson said: "Around 08:15 in the morning heading in to Bynack More in the Cairngorms. The sunrise gives a beautiful colour in the sky."

Alan Rankin, of Carrbridge, said: "I was leaving my father-in-law's house in Blairgowrie and noticed the alignment of the moon with the golfer wind vane on the top of the house. I could not believe my luck being there at the right time, with clear skies and having my camera and telephoto lens with me."
