Monkey torture video accused woman granted bail
A case against a woman accused of uploading monkey torture videos to online chat groups has been adjourned.
Adriana Orme, 55, of Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, is alleged to have published an obscene article by uploading one image and 26 videos of monkey torture.
In addition, she is accused of encouraging or assisting the commission of unnecessary suffering by making a £10 payment to a PayPal account.
She was due to enter a plea at Worcester Crown Court but the case was adjourned after her barrister asked for a Dutch interpreter.
The offences are alleged have happened between between April 14 and June 16 2022.
Judge James Burbidge KC told Ms Orme: "Your barrister has asked, given the significance of the matters alleged against you, that you be assisted by an interpreter in your first language, which is Dutch.
"I have acceded to that request.
"I hope it can be arranged for you to have a conference with him and a Dutch interpreter before you come back to court on the 19th of June."
Her co-defendant, Holly LeGresley, 37, is awaiting sentencing after admitting she uploaded 22 images and 132 videos of monkeys being tortured to online chat groups.
A short hearing on Tuesday was told psychiatric reports were being prepared ahead of her sentencing.
