Police called to two 'gunshot' incidents
Police are investigating after being called to two firearms incidents nine hours apart.
Thames Valley Police said it received a report of a gunshot outside a property on Weymann Terrace in Oxford at 16:30 BST on Sunday.
Officers were then called to Warren Crescent, Headington, at about 01:30 on Monday following another report of a gunshot.
No one was inside the property on Weymann Terrace at the time and no one was injured in either incident, police said.
The force said officers would remain at both scenes, which are about 0.9 miles (1.5km) apart, until Tuesday.
Deputy local policing area commander for Oxford, Ch Insp Andrew O’Hanlon, said police believed the two incidents were "connected and targeted", with no threat to the wider public.
"I understand that this may be alarming but fortunately these incidents are extremely rare," he said.
"There is an increased police presence in these areas so anyone with concerns can get in touch or speak to a uniformed officer."
He urged anyone with information about either incident to contact police.
