Man questioned after pedestrian dies in car crash

A man has been arrested after a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in which a man in his 40s died.
Hertfordshire Police said the pedestrian died at the scene of the crash, close to the Hartwell Ford car dealership on Redbourn Road, Hemel Hempstead, at about 17:00 BST on Monday.
A man in his 30s, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving, remains in police custody.
Detectives are now looking to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw a blue BMW M240 or the pedestrian in the moments before the collision.
The force said the pedestrian's next of kin had been informed and were being supported by officers.
Det Sgt Craig Wheeler from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "Our thoughts are with the man's loved ones at this difficult time.
"If you were driving in the area and have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured something that could assist with our investigation."
He asked for anyone with information to email him or contact the force via its website.
