Deputy enjoys Wheel of Fortune TV appearance

A Guernsey deputy said he was pleased to highlight the island and educate host Graham Norton while appearing on a TV quiz show.
Chris Blin, president of the Overseas Aid and Development Commission, was one of three contestants on Saturday's episode of ITV's Wheel of Fortune.
He won £1,500 during the show and despite not winning the whole episode, Mr Blin said it was a lot of fun to be involved with.
Mr Blin added he was delighted to talk about the island and what he does, which included teaching the show's host what a deputy was.
At the start of the episode, Mr Blin told Norton he was from the island and along with being a business owner, he was a people's deputy at the States of Guernsey.
This prompted Norton to ask: "What's a people's deputy?"
After Mr Blin explained it was Guernsey's equivalent to an MP in the UK, Norton quipped to the audience: "Ladies and gentlemen, a politician is at our wheel."
Speaking after his appearance on the show, which was filmed in Manchester in November, Mr Blin said: "A bit of promotion of Guernsey is always a good thing."
'Good amount of banter'
Mr Blin said he did not tell his family he would be appearing on the show, so they were surprised when the episode aired.
He added the wheel was a lot heavier than he imagined it would be when he got to push it.
"They don't just film one episode a day, they film lots," he said.
"You get to meet lots of people from all over the UK, so there was a good amount of banter and fun."
