Attempted murder arrest after stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent.
A man was attacked and his van reportedly stolen on Church Street, in the centre of Stoke, at 04:35 BST on Thursday, Staffordshire Police said.
The victim was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries and nearby roads were cordoned off.
A 29-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested in the van in Wolverhampton and was due to be questioned by detectives, the force said.
He was also arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink.

Officers cordoned off routes around Church Street, and traffic monitoring firm Inrix added on Thursday at 13:00 BST that Campbell Place, London Road and Liverpool Road had been closed.
Police advised residents to consider alternative routes and urged anyone with any information to contact the force.
