A man has been arrested after a vehicle crashed into the side of a bungalow.

Suffolk Police was called to Foxhall Road near the roundabout junction with the A1189 in Ipswich at 00:12 GMT on Wednesday.

Two men were seen exiting the vehicle following the crash and walking in the direction of the town centre.

A man was later arrested at 07:38 on suspicion of dangerous driving - and taken to hospital for treatment.

A police cordon will remain in place for some time at the bungalow, next to The Cutting Edge hair salon and Pin High Golf, the force said.

Engineers from UK Power Networks were called to Foxhall Road at 01:49 to make the electricity supply safe.

Structural engineers were also sent to the property to make sure the building was secure.

Officers are appealing for witnesses.
