Two people have been taken to hospital after a "violent incident" in a city centre.

A pedestrianised stretch of London Street in Norwich, next to Jarrold's department store, was taped off by police late on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were also in nearby Gaol Hill.

The ambulance service said: "Two ambulances, a paramedic car and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to Gaol Hill in Norwich this afternoon following reports of a violent incident.

"Two patients were transported to hospital for further assessment and care."

Norfolk Police has been asked for further information.
