The plan aims to make it easier for people "walking, wheeling and cycling"

Two councils say they want to hear from people in the area about their "walking, wheeling and cycling" habits.

South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council said they wanted to encourage more people to cycle, walk and wheel - for those using wheelchairs, mobility scooters or other wheeled mobility aids

They said identifying improvements on routes would "support communities, help improve community wellbeing and fight against climate change by promoting greener journeys".

South Hams councillor Victor Abbott said with "community wellbeing being a priority for the council, looking into how to improve walking and cycling opportunities in the South Hams makes a lot of sense".

The consultation, which ends on 11 October, runs online with drop-in events at the following venues:

  • Ockment Centre, Okehampton from 14:00-17:00 BST on 23 September
  • Tavistock Town Hall from 14:00-17:00 on 23 September
  • Dartmouth Guildhall from 10:30-13:30 on 24 September
  • Kingsbridge Market Hall from 10:30-13:30 on 25 September
