Police received several reports of cars ablaze in Canterbury Road, Walton Road, Military Road, and Enbrook Valley, as well as Whitenbrook in Hythe, between 02:00 and 03:00 BST on Friday.

A 54-year-old man from Folkestone was arrested on suspicion of arson, assaulting an emergency worker and driving while unfit through drink.

He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
