Home is 'too quiet' without crash victim

The family of a 28-year-old man killed in a crash have paid tribute to an "amazing human" who lived life to the "absolute fullest".

Matthew Newton died when his Ford Raptor left the road on the A69 near Throckley, Newcastle, at 23:30 GMT on 28 November.

In a statement his family, from Carlisle, said "our house is far too quiet now without him".

Northumbria Police charged a 34-year-old man with causing death by dangerous driving and he is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Monday.

Describing Mr Newton, who ran a car showroom, his relatives said: "Matthew lived his life to the absolute fullest and had the best friends anyone could wish for.

"He was an amazing human who would do anything for anyone, our house is far too quiet now without him, when Matthew was in a room we all knew it.

"He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered for his beautiful personality, his kindest heart and his dazzling smile."
