Hull City Council's leader and chief executive will have a tough decision to make when they judge the winner of this year's school Christmas card competition.

The local authority has released some of the shortlisted entries for the primary school competition, with each school in Hull invited to enter.

The winning designs will be turned into Hull City Council's official digital Christmas card for 2024, which will be sent to all employees, partners and stakeholders within the city and beyond.

Councillor Mike Ross, leader of the authority, said: "We're looking for entries that celebrate how Christmas brings people together, with a Hull twist!"

Together with chief executive Matt Jukes, they will select one winner and one runner-up from both the primary and secondary age category.

There will be gift cards as prizes for the winners and runners-up, which will be announced before Christmas.
