Driver arrested after man struck by car dies

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a man was hit and killed by a car.

The 45-year-old, described by police as a pedestrian, was hit as he lay in the road in Collyhurst, Manchester, just before 22:00 BST on Sunday.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the 46-year-old woman failed a roadside drugs test and was arrested after the incident on Rochdale Road.

The force appealed for information and dashcam or mobile phone footage.
