Plans released for Surrey supermarket and houses

Plans have been released for a new supermarket with townhouses and apartments in Surrey.
Lidl GB, a German brand, has outlined plans for a new budget store with six townhouses and seven apartments above the building in Warlingham.
According to the brand, a new store would create up to 40 jobs and "regenerate this currently disused site".
In a letter addressed to local councillors, Lidl's agent said the company so far had a "mix of responses" to the plans but that it was launching "a full public consultation" both online and through an in-person event, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
The company said it is creating a website and a freepost feedback form for people who want to share their views.
The drop-in community consultation event will be on Wednesday 26 February between 16:00 GMT and 20:00 at Warlingham Rugby Football Club.
No end date to the consultation period has been announced yet and Lidl has not confirmed when an application will be submitted.
Lidl bought the site in Hamsey Green, between Croydon and Surrey, over a decade ago.
The company has proposed three previous plans for the site, in 2012, 2013 and 2016, but all were rejected for traffic and safety reasons.
Plans will be submitted to Croydon Council for approval and also shared with Tandridge District Council.
