Man accused of murdering mother and trying to murder man

A 30-year-old man has been accused of murdering his mother and attempting to murder a 55-year-old man in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to Craigton Avenue at about 19:30 on Sunday.

The 52-year-old woman and 55-year-old man were taken to the city's Raigmore Hospital for treatment to serious injuries. The woman later died.

Thomas Fraser allegedly used two knives to repeatedly stabbed his mother and the man. He appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court, made no plea and was remanded in custody.
