Work on improving hospital roundabout due to start

Safety improvement work at a busy hospital roundabout will start on Monday.
The central island of the Addenbrooke's roundabout in Cambridge is being reduced so the road, paths and crossings can be widened.
The Greater Cambridge Partnership said it hoped it would improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
Work will take place over eight weeks, with the outer ring remaining open and the inner ring closing overnight.
It is the first phase of improvement work and will take place overnight from 20:00 BST to 06:00 BST, Monday to Friday.
Access to all homes, the hospital and Cambridge Biomedical Campus will be maintained.
The second stage of work will include the outer ring of the roundabout and the crossing on the Fendon Road arm. That work is due to take place later in the summer.
James Hostler, a Greater Cambridge Partnership project manager, said: "The works to improve the roundabout are taking place overnight to reduce disruption to everyone using the road and living nearby.
"We will do all we can to minimise noise and light pollution to local residents as we are very aware of the patience they have shown when works have been carried out in the past."
