Passport and immigration fees in Jersey are to increase next month, the States has said.

A standard adult passport will cost £107, compared to the previous price of £100; while a standard child passport will rise from £69 to £74.

Skilled work permits will increase by £58 to £885, and student immigration fees are set to rise by £34 to £524.

The Department of Justice and Home Affairs said the new prices, which come into effect from 1 June, align with increases brought in by the UK in April.

Officials said other immigration fee increases would affect British nationals, investors and temporary work permits.

Passports are valid for up to 10 years for adults and up to five years for children.

The States added: "Before traveling, ensure your passport is still valid.

"If it is nearing its expiration date, check the entry requirements of your destination, as some countries may not allow entry depending on the remaining validity and the length of your stay."
