A Jersey charity has appealed for more donations for Christmas presents to be sent to children in Ukraine and Romania.

Mustard Seed Jersey wants to send shoeboxes full of items such as toiletries, tinned food and toys during the festive period.

It said it was aiming to send thousands of parcels this year as part of its Christmas shoebox appeal.

Rose Helie, from the charity, said islanders could choose to send their boxes to Romania or Ukraine, but if they have a particular choice they must donate before 11 October.

The closing date for donations is 29 October.
