Rail passengers between Surrey and London are facing disruption

A "severe" track problem caused disruption for rail passengers between Surrey and London.

No trains were running between Epsom and Sutton due to a points failure, causing cancellations and delays on Dorking, Horsham and Epsom routes.

Southern advised passengers to expect disruption until 09:00 GMT as National Rail engineers work to fix the problem.

The service is now back to normal.
