Drivers have been warned to expect long delays after a six-vehicle crash closed a section of a motorway in Warwickshire.

National Highways said the M6 southbound, near Henley, remained closed between Junction 3 for Bedworth and Junction 2 near Coventry following a "serious multiple vehicle collision".

Emergency services were called to the crash at about 09:29 GMT on Thursday morning.

Ambulances and paramedics were also in attendance, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

Warwickshire Police has advised drivers to find alternative routes.

Diversions were currently in place in the area with delays of 60 minutes and congestion, National Highways added.
