Two young photographers from Cornwall have been nominated for a national award.

Eva, 14, from Truro, and George, 12, from Callington, have both been shortlisted to win the RSPCA Young Photographer People's Choice Award.

Eva's photo features an image of a slug at a waterfall in Whitby, while George's shows a dog catching a flying disc.

Both are part of a final shortlist of 15 photographs where the public vote for the winner.

'Brilliant selection'

The RSPCA said the competition, which is open to anybody under the age of 18, encourages children to access nature.

Andrew Forsyth, RSPCA photographer and judge, said the photos submitted were "fantastic and really varied".

"This is a brilliant selection of images from some passionate and talented young people and we urge the public to not only enjoy these photos but to vote for their favourite too."

The charity said the winning photo would be announced on 27 March.
