Road to close due to risk of tidal flooding
Part of the A1077 in North Lincolnshire will be closed from Saturday morning, as officials warn of potential tidal flooding.
North Lincolnshire Council said the closure would be in place at South Ferriby from 05:30 BST until further notice to allow for the flood gates to be closed.
A spokesperson said it was necessary to protect people and homes.
Motorists are advised to follow diversions.
High tides, resulting from large waves, were predicted along the east coast of England on Friday, leading to unusually high tide levels between Whitton and South Ferriby on Saturday.
The Environment Agency said the closure would be a precaution.
No further flooding to fields and roads is expected but there could be standing water for several days, the agency said.
