Man dies in crash with HGV on A6

A man has died in a crash with a lorry.

He was driving a Ford Fiesta when it crashed with the HGV on the A6 near the Wreay turn-off, between Carlisle and Penrith, at about 15:15 GMT on Tuesday.

Cumbria Police said the man, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Police are investigating the crash and have asked anyone with information to contact them.
