Plea for pictures of Spitfire leading up to crash
Investigators have launched a fresh appeal for videos and photos of a Spitfire leading up to a crash near RAF Coningsby in which the pilot was killed.
Sqn Ldr Mark Long died after the World War Two-era plane, which belonged to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, crashed in a field shortly before 13:20 BST on 25 May.
The Defence Accident Investigation Branch (DAIB) has requested for videos and pictures of the Spitfire MK356 after it commenced flying in April 2024, following its winter maintenance period.
The branch previously asked for images or footage of the aircraft taken on the day of the crash.
Videos and pictures can be sent via email to [email protected] with information included on where and when the content was captured.
