A man found dead by the side of a major A-road has been named.

The body of Nerijus Vysniauskas, 26, was discovered on the A47 near King's Lynn at about 09:20 GMT on 2 December.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at Norfolk Coroners' Court earlier.

A man in his 60s arrested in Reading, Berkshire, on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, failing to stop and failing to report a collision has been bailed until March.

Senior coroner Jacqueline Lake recorded Mr Vysniauskas's preliminary medical cause of death as a head injury.

She said he had been born in Lithuania, worked at a factory and lived in Gaywood.

On Sunday, detectives closed a section of the A47 between the Pullover roundabout and the Shoreboat roundabout as part of their investigation.

No date for a full inquest hearing was scheduled by the court.
