Training for film industry offered in Ashford
A series of events is being held across Ashford, Kent during the summer for people interested in a career in film.
Screen Ashford has been organised by Screen South, Ashford Borough Council and Borderpoint Films, a company based in the town.
It includes a three-day film school, screenings of short films made in Kent, and a question and answer session with industry professionals.
There is also a competition which will see four three-minute films to be made in Ashford commissioned, with £3,000 funding for each.
In August a film future camp will be held for 20 young people aged between 14 and 17.
Chris Dixon, arts and cultural industries manager at Ashford Borough Council said: “This is a great opportunity to develop more creative skills at all levels in Ashford.
"We hope that these initiatives will equip local talent with the skills, connections and confidence necessary to thrive in a dynamic and competitive industry”.
