Two firefighters from West Sussex are set to walk 52 miles across the county in their full kit to raise money for charity.

On Tuesday, Jordie O’Hara and Katie Gray, from Littlehampton Fire Station, will walk from East Grinstead Fire Station to Selsey Fire Station for the Fire Fighters Charity and children's hospice Chestnut Tree House.

The pair are planning to complete the journey within 24 hours, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service says.

Ms O'Hara said: “We have definitely set ourselves a bold challenge, but we are determined to complete it within our targeted timeframe."

Ms Gray added: “The Fire Fighters Charity supports firefighters and their families from the day [they] join the fire service, and even once they leave.

“Jordie and I recently visited the Chestnut Tree House too and we were in awe of the facilities they provide and the work they do, so we are hoping to help in any way we can to bring them more donations.”
