Kind-hearted schoolboys donate Christmas gifts

Two schoolboys have donated their pocket money to buy toys for children who might not receive any this Christmas.

Cousins Rupert, six, from Scarborough and Ralph, seven, from Filey, put £10 towards the presents that will be distributed to families by The Rainbow Centre.

The charity supports people in the community who are homeless, vulnerable or in crisis.

Ralph said they wanted the toys to go to "children who have nothing".

The boys' family have donated toys before, and this year collected dolls, dolls' houses, jigsaws, remote control cars, books, clothes, jewellery, cuddly toys and tool sets.

Rupert added: “I have lots of toys and these children might not have many toys, so we will give some pocket money so they can have some."

Natalie Agars, fundraising officer at The Rainbow Centre said: “It’s lovely to see the boys and the young generation considering and wanting to help children less fortunate.

“The gifts will bring some Christmas joy to the children receiving them and alleviate some of the financial burden for the parents.

“The gifts are given to the children of the families who are registered for our support."
