Fine for dumping rocking horse on a bridleway

A man has been fined for fly-tipping waste that including a child's rocking horse on a bridleway.
The rocking horse, furniture and other household items were left in Carnaby, near Bridlington, East Yorkshire, on 15 January last year.
Ben Johnson, 27, of Little Beck Road, Bridlington, pleaded guilty at Beverley Magistrates' Court on 5 March to failing in his duty of care to make sure his waste was disposed of legally.
He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £353.92 in costs and a £16 victim surcharge.
Carl Skelton, director of streetscene services at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "Householders have a duty of care to make sure their waste is disposed of responsibly and legally.
"There are plenty of easy ways provided for people to do that."
