A Grand National horse trainer has denied seriously assaulting a man.

Richard Evan Rhys Williams pleaded not guilty to two charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and inflicting grievous bodily harm to Martin Dandridge on 4 December last year in Llancarfan, Vale of Glamorgan.

Mr Williams, 54 and known as Evan, of Llancarfan, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and enter his pleas during a brief hearing at Cardiff Crown Court.

He was released on conditional bail until his trial on 3 March 2026.
