Two arrested after £150k worth of drugs seized

Two people have been arrested after drugs with a street value of around £150,000 were seized by police.

Wiltshire Police said officers found the class A and class B drugs after warrants were carried out at a business premises on Manchester Road, Swindon, and a residential property in Cherry Orchard, Highworth on Wednesday.

The force said large amounts of cash, high value jewellery and clothing also found and the two were arrested in relation to money laundering and drug supply.

Sgt Winter said "a significant amount of drugs" have been taken off the streets as a result.

"Other than the obvious risks to the public caused by drug supply, it also brings related crime and anti-social behaviour to areas including violence and theft which have a sizeable detrimental impact on our local communities," he added.

"Broadgreen is a diverse area, and has many young families living in the area that are hugely impacted by the effects of drug supply criminality," he added.
