No congestion charge for eight days over Christmas

There will be no congestion charge over the festive season

The £15-a-day charge for driving in London's congestion charge zone will be suspended from Christmas Day until the day after New Year's Day, Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed.

There will be no service on public transport on 25 December and a reduced or no services on some parts of the network on Boxing Day.

Buses will operate as usual on 24 December but no night services or 24-hour routes will operate into Christmas Day.

The Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) will operate as usual across the festive period, with the exception of Christmas Day, while the Low Emission Zone (LEZ), which covers most of Greater London, will continue to operate as usual including on 25 December.

There will be a special bus timetable on New Year's Eve

Victoria Coach Station, Santander Cycles, rental e-scooters and Dial-a-Ride, along with taxi and private hire services, will be available throughout the festive period including on Christmas Day.

On New Year's Eve there will be services running all night on all Tube lines except Waterloo and City, as well as on trams, the Elizabeth line, the Docklands Light Railway and the Overground, TfL said.

There will also be a special bus timetable on New Year's Eve with increased service on some routes and the extension of certain day routes overnight.

There are planned engineering works on National Rail services, including closures at Liverpool Street Station from 27 December to 1 January 2025 and Paddington Station from 27 December to 29 December.

Rail closures are also planned from King's Cross and St Pancras stations to Luton on Thameslink and East Midlands Railway services from 21 December to 29 December.
