A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash which killed a driver.

A man, in his 20s, died after his red Mini car left Ballam Road in Lytham and smashed into a tree at about 22:00 BST on Wednesday, Lancashire Police said.

The 19-year-old driver of a second car, a black Seat Ibiza, from St Annes, is being questioned in police custody.

The force is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of the crash.

Sgt Kas Hussain said: "We are investigating the circumstances surrounding this collision and I would appeal to anyone who either saw what happened or who has any footage such as CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage to get in touch.

"I would also be interested in speaking to anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments before the collision."
