Pensioner, 82, admits nine child sex offences

A pensioner has admitted multiple sex offences against three schoolgirls over a 40-year period.
Barrie Hall, 82, of St Andrew's Gardens, Lincoln, pleaded guilty to nine offences, including rape and sexual assault, when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court earlier.
He committed the crimes between September 1982 and January 2024.
Hall is due to be sentenced at the same court on 16 May and Judge Peter Kelson KC told the defendant he would be "facing a lengthy sentence of imprisonment but I am going to allow you time to put your financial affairs in order".
He admitted raping a girl aged under 16, four charges of indecent assault against the same victim and one charge of gross indecency.
Those offences occurred between September 1982 and October 1990.
Hall also sexually assaulted two girls aged under 13. The first was between June 2014 and June 2018 and the second between September 2018 and January 2024.
Anna Soubry, defending, asked for Hall to be granted bail so he could get his financial affairs in order before he is jailed.
"The sentence is inevitable. He knows at his age there is every chance he will never be released from prison," she said.
"He says it will take him six weeks to get his affairs sorted."
