Bus rally cancelled as 'not financially viable'

An annual tourist event on a West Sussex seafront has been cancelled as it was "not financially viable" to hold it this year, its organisers have said.
The Worthing Bus Rally has traditionally taken place on the last Sunday of July in conjunction with Worthing Lions.
In recent years the event has featured a display of both modern and heritage buses, free bus services and stalls.
An event spokesperson said the cancellation came with "great regret" as vehicle numbers had decreased over the years.
A statement on the Worthing Bus Rally website said: "We have loved getting to know vehicle owners, trade stall owners and visitors alike and we hope that you can understand our decision.
"It was a difficult but unanimous decision to make but unfortunately, we are not receiving enough entries to make this a financially viable event."
Many event supporters took to social media to express sadness and disappointment, highlighting the "enjoyable experiences" and "family fun" the rally had provided.
The Bus Rally spokesperson said: "Over the past few years, we have noted a yearly decrease in vehicle numbers due to many reasons, this has led to a decrease in visitor numbers.
"Which has equalled a decrease in funds coming into the event.
"It also means that we will be unable to run a service that meets previous years' standards."
