Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash in Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to Besthorpe Road, Collingham, near Newark, at about 11:25 GMT on Saturday after reports the rider had come off his bike.

Police closed the road as it carried out investigations.

Det Con Liah Lane, of Nottinghamshire Police, said the rider was taken to hospital and she urged anyone who witnessed the crash, or had relevant footage, to come forward.
