A British GP from the Army is preparing to represent his country in the world mullet championships.

Alastair Bush, from Bovington Camp in Dorset, will be travelling to New South Wales in Australia to take part in Mulletfest on 2 December.

In February, the doctor flew to Australia to take part in a competition heat held in a pub in Kurri Kurri. He won and was invited back for the finals.

All funds raised from his mullet journey will be donated to Testicular Cancer UK.

Mr Bush started growing his mullet during lockdown in October 2021, when he could not go to the barber shop.

He said he now had mixed feelings towards his haircut and that it may be "time to get rid of it".

"Maybe I'll leave it in Australia," he added.
