Man dies after fight in pub beer garden

A man has died after he was left with serious injuries in a fight at a pub beer garden, police have said.

The 76-year-old man suffered serious arm and chest injuries in the fight with another man at the Park Inn, Kingskerswell on 17 December, said the Devon and Cornwall force.

The injured man, from Torquay, was taken to Torbay District Hospital where he died on 22 December, said officers.

A man in his 70s from Kingskerswell was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and was released on bail until 22 March.

The pair were believed to be known to each other, said police.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to the fight at about 20:20 GMT and beforehand.
