Landslip disrupts bank holiday rail services
Bank holiday rail services in East Sussex have been severely disrupted by a landslip, a points failure and flooding.
Network Rail said the landslip happened near Balcombe, affecting services from Three Bridges to Brighton.
The line was reopened after being assessed by engineers.
Southern Rail said it had also received reports of flooding at Wivelsfield, with travellers being asked to delay their journeys if possible.
The operator said a points failure at Three Bridges was also affecting services towards Brighton and Horsham.
It said rail users would need to leave extra time to get to their destinations and warned stations were extremely busy.
