A pub near Redruth has been evacuated after two caravans caught fire, along with a number of gas cylinders.

Two fire engines were sent to Vogue, St Day, at 03:09 BST, where crews found a fire had spread across two touring caravans, a shed, fence, rubbish bins and gas cylinders.

Due to the cylinders, a 50m (165ft) cordon was put in place, the nearby pub was evacuated and neighbouring residents were asked to stay in their homes.

Jo Curd, who lives "four doors down" from the pub, said: "Loud bangs woke us up. It sounded like gunfire."

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire had been put out by 04:30.
