Firefighters tackling blaze at derelict house

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a property near Bideford.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said six fire engines were sent to the scene at Northam after fire broke out just after midnight on Thursday.

A spokesperson said firefighters from seven stations had been tackling the blaze at a large two-storey derelict house.

They added crews were still there and had made "steady progress through the night".
