Man appears in court over attack at petrol station

A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a customer at a Huddersfield petrol station.
Samuel Coop, 32, of Park Lea, Huddersfield, is accused of trying to kill a 40-year-old man at the garage, on Bradley Road, on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Coop, who appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, is also charged with three offences of assaulting an emergency worker, possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of Class A drugs.
He was remanded in custody and told he would next appear before Leeds Crown Court on 28 May.
West Yorkshire Police said the 40-year-old man was being treated for serious injuries in hospital and in a stable condition.
